The purpose of this article is to diffuse the General Plan from 93, published by the Councillor of the City Council of Vigo.
This is a case study that analyses the situation of rural areas in Galicia, along with their evolution and their possibilities for the future. The case studied includes unusual elements that set it apart from other places in Galicia. It, however, does not look into the governing metropolitan area that is made up of 14 municipalities, which include strained environments from an urban planning perspective to areas with a strong dynamic both in population and economy.
